b) a great piece of architecture
This piece of architecture formed the basis of the development of my interest in landmark architecture. Studying this widely recognised building as part of my early years at primary school, it was one of the first buildings to catalyse my interest in architecture. I love the idea that these iconic buildings can be so easily recognised and the city that it is part of. The relationship between materials, the exoskeleton form, and the landscape in the Burj-Al Arab is something that I am extremely interested in.
